COUNTDOWN TO 6th ANNUAL
RELAY FOR LIFE OF NORTH SHORE
June 2nd – June 3rd, 2012,
North Shore Middle School Field
The 6thAnnual Relay For Life will take place from Saturday, June 2nd, at 7pm through Sunday, June 3rd, until sunrise on the North Shore Middle School Field. We need all your support to make this yet another successful event! Even if you aren’t registered, you are welcome to join us! This year, the goal is $150,000 in donations and currently $70,000 has been raised for this important cause. A Fundraising Thermometer highlighting the Relay’s pledges can be found in front of North Shore Middle School.
Some of the highlights of the Relay For Life include: The Survivor’s Reception, begins at 5:30 pm, in NS Middle School Cafeteria, honoring cancer survivors and their caregivers. A delicious barbeque courtesy of the North Shore Kiwanis Club will be provided for those in attendance. Opening Ceremonies and Survivor’s/Caregiver’s Laps begin directly after dinner, highlighted by a Survivor Speaker. The Luminaria Ceremony, begins at nightfall, traditionally a beautiful ceremony where paper bags are illuminated with candles and everyone is asked to walk the track to remember the people who have battled cancer. Closing Ceremonies will take place at sunrise. Additionally, there will be raffle prizes for all those who want to participate and live music plus a DJ for your listening pleasure. Please, mark your calendars! This memorable event involving the whole community is something you don’t want to miss!
Please help the American Cancer Society as they are joined by the North Shore community Celebrate the cancer survivors in your life. Remember those lost to cancer. Fight Back as a community against cancer.
